Word of the Week

Our Word of the Week is composure -- a noun which refers to the state or feeling of being calm and in control of/regulating oneself.


This connects to what's happening this week in the ES, namely; MINDFULNESS mini lessons, as well as MAP testing and the culmination of units, intramural competitions, and presentations. As far as MAP testing goes,  we have reminded students that getting a good sleep, feeling well rested, getting up in time to organize oneself/one's things and have a healthy breakfast, and approaching tests with a calm (composed), positive, and     determined mindset, all are a great help. In the same way, during intramural finals, which can stir up emotions, we are encouraging students to play with house spirit, team work, fair play, composure, and to enjoy, whether they win, or not.
