Admissions Process

CNG is an International School with an international curriculum. We follow the American school calendar of August through June. Your child's placement is based on previous school experience and age. Students coming from a different school calendar (like Colombian A Calendar, Australia and New Zealand, among others) are required to continue in the year group in which they were placed in August of the current academic year. For example, if your child is coming from an Australian system and is in Year 8 in August 2025, they will be placed in Grade 8 at CNG for the 2025-2026 academic year. Applying students need to fall within the mean age range of the grade they are applying to. The range between the youngest and the oldest student in a grade cannot exceed two years.

The Bachillerato Académico Program is an academic program for Colombian students which qualifies them to enter Colombian universities. At CNG, this includes the academic courses taught in English as well as courses in Español, Sociales, and Filosofía/Ética, which are taught in Spanish. It is Colombian Educational law and the policy of the Board of Directors that all Colombian students be enrolled in the Bachillerato Program. CNG strives to meet a wide range of learning support needs through our inclusive and highly regarded learning-support program, but these resources are finite. Admissible applicants may be placed in a learning support waitpool if/when the applicant’s grade level learning support program is at full capacity. If your child currently receives or may require additional support, please contact the Admissions office before applying to ensure we can support your child.
