Counseling & Social-Emotional Support
CNG school counselors help enhance student success in academic, personal, social-emotional development, and career planning.
The counseling team, which is at the heart of support for all CNG students, includes 13 guidance counselors for our 14 grade levels and three college counselors. At CNG, we provide a strong focus on character education and emphasize social-emotional learning and personal well-being. We strive to ensure that our students develop self-awareness along with skills in intercultural competence in order to prepare responsible global citizens who will thrive in multi-cultural and multi-faceted environments. The CNG School Counseling Program is aligned with the International School Counseling Association (ISCA) standards.
In the High School, students are assigned one counselor who remains with them throughout their high school journey, allowing them to build strong relationships. They provide:
- One-on-one and group social-emotional support.
- Developmentally appropriate grade-level workshops for students, including but not limited to Consent, Substance Use Prevention, Legacy, Bullying, Inclusion & Emotional Regulation/Stress Management.
- Workshops and coffee morning discussions for parents.
- Academic planning and support in coordination with teachers and college counselors.
- Support with different transition stages, such as Middle to High School, incoming CNG students, and students transitioning out of CNG.
CNG is proud to have 13 guidance counselors for 14 grade levels, ensuring every student has the support they need to achieve their full potential for excellence.
